First Fall Finish

Even though it looks like I haven't been doing anything creative lately... I promise you I have been!

With all of the things that our family has been going through lately, I have been turning to creativity to keep me calm. It has become my escape.

I am a massive fan of seasonal decorating. The inner Martha Stewart in me starts to freak out as fall nears and I get to pull out our fall wreath and the fall garland for the fireplace. I try to add something new every year and this year it was a barn bats quilted table runner.

I found this free tutorial online and immediately fell in love. It it the perfect width for our skinny table and I could make it as long as I needed to. I started looking through my fabric stash to find the perfect mix of autumn colors. I found a few great additions while I was visiting my dad in Lethbridge (my favorite quilt shop Village Quilts is there). It was also in Lethbridge that I pieced this beauty. It came together quickly and after some rough and random straight line quilting I am totally in love with it.

What do you think?
