Foodie Love ~ Homemade Pizza

Home made pizza is THE BEST!

I really love the sweetness and freshness of home made dough. It also helps that making your own pizza dough costs substantially less than ordering in a pizza. We are still trying to see if we can live on one income and one of the items we are cutting back on is eating out. Finding a great pizza dough recipe so that we could still have family pizza nights was one of my top priorities. I found this recipe and it was a total hit with David and Sydney. Looks like we have a delicious winner!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

The Necessities:
~ 3/4 Cup of Warm Water
~ 1/2 Tbs of Yeast
~ 1 Tbs of Sugar
~ 1/2 Tbs of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
~ 1/4 Tsp of Salt
~ 1 1/2 Cups of Flour

The Process:
~ Dissolve Yeast in warm water and let sit until the top becomes foamy
~ Add olive oil, salt and flour to the yeast mixture and stir until it balls up. Add flour as needed.
~ Remove from the bowl, spray the bowl with cooking spray, place dough back into mixing bowl, cover and let sit for 30 minutes
~ Place dough on greased pizza pan and roll out
~ Allow to rise for an additional 10-15 minutes
~ Heat oven to 425F
~ Bake crust for 5-7 minutes to dry dough out
~ Remove from the oven and add pizza sauce, toppings and cheese
~ Return to the oven and bake for an additional 11-12 minutes
~ Enjoy!

Hunting for Easter Eggs

I love Easter egg hunts!

David and I had such a great time setting up for the Easter egg hunt this year. I knew Sydney would be super excited and we loved playing the roll of Easter bunny. We hid plastic eggs all over the main floor of the house and let her go to town. She did a great job and only needed a little bit of help finding the tougher ones.

Egg Decorating

I feel like I am finally starting to catch up on things around the house which is leaving me with a few extra minutes to catch up on my blogging.

We had a super busy Easter weekend that was so much fun! Sydney is old enough now to really understand and appreciate holidays. We knew that we wanted to get her involved in some fun Easter activities so we hard boiled some eggs and prepared for the mess that would come of dying Easter eggs.

She enjoyed every minute of it and dipped the eggs into the dye all on her own! It interesting to see how fearless she was and how creative she was being. At one point David encouraged her to stick her fingers in the colours to see how it would change her skin colour. She thought it was hysterical..... I did not. When all was said and done and she had had a bath, she decided that the best way to finish Easter egg decorating was to peel and eat one!

Squishy's Baby Shower

I love my friends so much.

I am one of those really lucky girls who has a few good girlfriends who have been in my life since I was a kid. One of those amazing long term friends is my friend Renee. When she found out that I was pregnant again she told me that she really wanted to host a baby shower for me. I was so excited! With this baby being our second, I really didn't expect anything.

Renee went above and beyond and threw me the most incredible shower! Everything was yellow, mint, burlap and doilies. It was so gorgeous! My husband's cousin Lara put together the drinks and my sister was in charge of the games. It was such an unbelievable afternoon and I can't thank Renee enough!

Here are a few photos from the afternoon!
