Surprise! I'm 30

I have no idea how it happened without much fanfare, but I turned 30 on March 22.

Turning 30 has gotten a bad rap for so many years, but I can honestly say that I am excited about reaching this milestone. Those who know me well, know that I had always hoped to be in an established place in my life by 30... and I am. I have two great kids and an incredible husband and a home that I love. And that incredible husband surprised me with the most amazing Birthday trip to San Francisco!

Two of our good friends Scott and Kenna moved to San Francisco after living in Los Angeles for a while. It was the perfect opportunity to get away from everything we have been going through here, visit some friends and see a beautiful city.

To say that I loved it there would be a massive understatement. There is something about the fast paced nature of SF and it's people. No one actually grew up in the bay area, they are all transplants. This means that it is a very eclectic community o individuals, most who work in the IT industry. Maybe its the nature of the work being done in the city or the people moving there to start their lives, but there is an exciting feeling of new beginnings in SF. An indescribable buzz and hum of activity. It helps that the food and drinks were some of the best I've ever had and the company could not have been better.

We walked an average of 15km a day and our feet and legs were definitely feeling it (so many blisters!). We explored most of the city on foot when the distance was too far to walk we took Uber or Lyft. During the day we managed to see all of the tourist essentials (Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, China Town, Exploratorium, California Academy of Science, Muir Woods, Fisherman's Warf, Union Square, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Height-Ashbury, The Castro and Alamo Square) and in the evenings we spent time with Scott & Kenna seeing the local side of the city. We had dinner at some of San Francisco's best (Slanted Door, Blowfish Sushi, and Asia SF) and drinks at some pretty unbelievable prohibition style cocktail bars (Odd Job and Burbon & Branch). Dave even found the time to make it to two early morning November Project workouts. Our schedule was jam packed!

Prepare for a photo overload... here are a few pictures from out time away and remember to look through our Instagram feed for more.
