The next step in Henry's solid food journey is fruit and veggie purées.
Summer is ending and I really wanted to take advantage of all of the fresh produce that is still easy to find in the store. There is a list of fruit and vegetables that are safe to start with when feeding a baby and these three are on that list. You want to begin with savoury items and move to sweet so that baby doesn't only want sweet foods. Here are a few recipes to get you started on the homemade baby food train!
Carrot Purée:
~ Boil 2 cups of carrots until very soft
~ Add to food processor with 1/2 cup of water, formula or breastmilk ( I used breastmilk because I have a major oversupply)
~ Process until smooth adding liquid in small amounts until you have reached a consistency that you like
~ Freeze in ice cube trays or small containers
Peach Puree:
~ Bring a large pot of water to a boil

~ Add the peaches and 1/2 cup of water, formula or breastmilk to food processor and blend until smooth adding liquid if you would like it thinner
